House Rules
The Kit-Tea Café is the cat’s fur-ever home. Our customers are visitors and we want the resident cats to always feel safe secure and happy in their home so we’ve a few house rules to make sure the kitty cats stay happy and healthy,, and our visitors get the best experience.
These rules are a mandatory requirement and are non negotiable, failure to comply to any of them may result in you and your party being asked to leave the Café.
Of course you are welcome to play with the cats, cuddle, stroke, and groom them, but we do ask all our customers the keep in mind the following.
Please take lots of photographs while visiting, however don’t use the flash, this can damage our furbabies eyes and give them a big fright.
We do allow children to visit who are over the age of 8, There must be 1 adult to every 2 children. Children under 16 must be acompanied by someone who is over the age of 16.
Don’t worry we do hold special sessions for younger children so that we can be as inclusive as possible. You may be asked to verify date of birth and The kit-Tea Café has the right to refuse entry without a refund if we think a customer is being dishonest, this is due to our insurance and keeping our cats and equally our visitors as safe as possible.
You will be asked to sign in agreement to these house rule on entry to the café, and each adult must sign as an acknowledgement to agreement of the above.
Please be respectful to our cats, You are not allowed to chase them, force hold them or pick them up from the floor, or even wake them while they sleep, cats can sleep up to 16 hours per day, so some days they might be more energetic than others and if they are chilling out on the day you visit, there is nothing we can do about that and we will never force them to “perform & Interact.
We have a no shoe policy in the café, please feel free to bring your comfy slippers, but just wearing your socks is also ok, we do have in house slippers you may borrow. These are washed and sanitised for customers use. This helps with keeping our cats as healthy and safe as possible and will limit the number of germs they are exposed to brought in from outside.
Please keep the sound level low, we know this can be tricky in such an exciting environment, however the fur babies don’t like shouting, crying, screaming and running feet – they will retreat into their bedroom and then you may not get the interactions with them you were hoping for. So please be courteous.
Please do not bring any treats of your own or feed the cats or feed them any crumbs from your biscuits/cakes. Some of the cats are on vet approved diets and could get quite poorly, you will be provided with treats to feed the cats during your visit.
We have lots of toys for the cats to play with, please don’t bring in anything from home you think they may like. We do accept donations of toys and are very grateful for these, we just like to sanitise them first before introducing
